Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale Catalogue Online

880 lots have been catalogued for the Inglis Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale, which will again run over four days, on 1, 2, 3 and 4 May. The Newmarket sale ring in Sydney will light up with weanlings and broodmares from some of Australia’s best families.

Kicking off selling on the first day will be the Platinum Weanling Session, where all 123 weanlings entered have X-Rays available for viewing, to minimise risk and maximise returns to buyers.

Weanlings to be offered include those from the families of Group 1 winners Flamberge Samaready, Holler, Nicconi, Hot Danish, Onemorenomore, Sacred Star, Assertive Lad, Bulla Borghese, Snitzel and Hurtle Myrtle, along with blue hen Staging and hot young sire I Am Invincible.

Exciting young sires All Too Hard, So You Think, Uncle Mo, Zoffany, Excelebration, and proven sires Fastnet Rock, Sebring, Stratum, I Am Invincible, Hinchinbrook and Choisir will be represented at this year’s weanling sale, as will first season sires Zoustar, Epaulette, Dundeel, Shamus Award, Eurozone, Declaration Of War, Dawn Approach and Sizzling.

Inglis Weanling Sales continue to deliver results in the yearling sales for pinhookers and on the racetrack for their connections. Weanlings bought in Sydney last year have sold in 2016 up to $300,000, $280,000 and $260,000 at Inglis Premier in Melbourne, and $340,000, $260,000 and $240,000 at the Gold Coast, while 11 Sydney pinhooks are set to be offered at the upcoming Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

In the broodmare section, dispersals and reductions have been nominated by four of Australia’s leading thoroughbred nurseries: Bell River Thoroughbreds, Bell View Park Stud, Gooree Park Stud and Think Big Stud. They have been joined most recently by substantial drafts from Newgate Farm and Princes Farm.

In addition to Extremely, carrying a full sibling to this year’s outstanding Blue Diamond winner Extreme Choice, and Group 1 winner Barinka, mares will be offered in foal with relations to Flippant and Neena Rock.

The broodmare section will also offer mares closely related to First Seal, Denman, Mirjulisa Lass, Once Were Wild, Captain Sonador, Scratch Me Lucky, Stratum Star, Serenade, Sacred Kingdom, Jabali, Bondeiger, Hallowell Belle and Sweet Redemption.

Over 50 outstanding broodmares from each Gooree Park Stud and Think Big Stud will be offered, including close relations to Group 1 winning first season sire Your Song and a full sister to Flight Stakes winner Speak Fondly, and Group 1 winner Faint Perfume in-foal to Redoute’s Choice.

Newgate Farm’s draft is highlighted by Group 1 performer Pane In The Glass which is in foal to their resident first season sire Deep Field, and Follonica in foal to Australian Horse Of The Year Dissident.

Joining them are 17 mares from the Anthony Cummings stable under the Princes Farm banner, highlighted by recent Group 3 Epona Stakes winner Vergara, and two half-sisters to dual-Group 1 winner Fiveandahalfstar; Wordplay and Enigmatic.

Middlebrook Valley Lodge’s 13 select broodmares include Ininthree, a daughter of the recently-deceased blue hen Parfore, while The Old Crossing will offer the recent Group 3 Auckland Cup quinella of Decorah and Rose Of Virginia.
