Classic Types Deliver Success

Mourinho became the fifth individual Group 1 winner from his Inglis Classic crop when saluting in the MRC Underwood Stakes this season. From a $36,000 yearling to $1.3 million earner the Peter Gelagotis trained galloper is yet another success story from the sale that delivers for buyers, the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.

Overnight another Group 1 winning Inglis Classic graduate in Brazen Beau was confirmed among the world’s best racehorses for 2015. The I Am Invincible colt’s international rating of 121 put him equal 27th in the world thanks to his victory in the VRC Newmarket Handicap, which was Australia’s second highest rated race for 2015 behind the Darley Classic.

Brazen Beau isn’t the only son of I Am Invincible to find a liking for the Flemington straight, as was witnessed last weekend from the Kurt Goldman-trained Hellbent scoring an impressive win in the $250,000 Inglis Dash over 1100m. The victory took Hellbent’s prizemoney past $270,000 in six starts, nearly three times the $95,000 managing owner Alan Cardy paid for him at the Inglis Classic Sale.

Hellbent is in fact one of 16 stakes performers offered at the 2014 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, alongside the likes of exciting three-year-olds Petits Filous, Miss Gunpowder, Pearl Star, One for One and many others.

16 two-year-old winners this season were purchased from last year’s Inglis Classic Sales, including Blue Diamond favourite Extreme Choice and fellow stakes winners Concealer and Jackson.

A strong field of juveniles are shaping up for the $250,000 RL Inglis Classic race at Randwick on Saturday 6 February, for the chance to have their name etched alongside previous race winners such as Peggy Jean, Chance Bye, Choisir, Fair Embrace and inaugural winner Laurie’s Lottery.

From precocious two-year-olds and sprinting greats to Derby types and Classic performers the Inglis Classic Sale is renowned as the sale with a type for all buyers. Book One in 2016 is no different with 575 opportunities to secure some of Australia’s best types, with 88% of the catalogue being BOBS eligible.

Book One of the 2016 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale kicks off with a 110 lot evening session from 6:00pm on Saturday 6 February, and is followed by two busy days on Sunday 7th and Monday 8th, both which will begin at the earlier time of 10:00am.
