Entries Closing for Thoroughbred Sales in December

Inglis is calling for entries for the Summer Thoroughbred Sale in Sydney and the December Thoroughbred Sale in Melbourne, the last two breeding and racing stock sales for the year.

The sales are held a week apart, with the Summer Sale in Sydney on Friday 4 December 2015 followed by the Melbourne auction on Friday 11 December 2015.

As both the breeding season and Spring Racing Carnival draw to a close, the sales will be the final opportunities for owners in New South Wales and Victoria to trade racing and breeding stock ahead of the New Year.

“With the 2016 yearling sales around the corner, these sales give owners and trainers a great opportunity to trade horses from their stables in preparation for the new additions next year," said Inglis’ National Bloodstock Director Jonathan D’Arcy.

“For breeders, with the vast majority of mares having foaled down and been covered, this allows a quick turnaround for those wanting to refresh their broodmare bands. Important to note is broodmares may be offered with foals at foot.

“Racing stock have sold up to $260,000 and breeding stock up to $130,000 across these two sales in the past few years, a promising sign for 2015 potential vendors.

“The clearance rate of 95% achieved by both the Summer and December Thoroughbred Sales in 2014 shows that vendors and buyers are keen to take advantage of these opportunities,” D’Arcy added..

The 2015 December Thoroughbred Sale, which last year received over 200 entries, will be held on 11 December at Inglis’ Oaklands Complex in Melbourne.

Vendors have until 5pm this Friday, 30 October to submit their entries for the December Thoroughbred Sale, for which a printed catalogue will be mailed out to Inglis' extensive database.

Entries for the 2015 Summer Thoroughbred Sale to be held on 4 December at Inglis’ Newmarket Complex in Sydney, will close at 5pm on Friday 27 November.

This sale is conducted with an online catalogue that will be available on Tuesday 1 December at inglis.com.au or for download on the Inglis iPad App.
