Scone Sales And Racing Carnival This Week

The four days of sales and races in Scone NSW are fast approaching with festivities kicking off this Thursday 15 May with the Inglis Scone Thoroughbred Sale at White Park.

11 supplementary entries have been added to Thursday’s auction of breeding and racing stock. The 77 lot online catalogue can be viewed at inglis.com.au

The two-day Scone Racing Carnival then starts on Friday 16 May. Feature races on Friday include the $200,000 Listed Emirates Park Scone Cup (1600m) and $100,000 Inglis 2YO Challenge (1100m).

20 nominations have been received for the Inglis Challenge, including four by leading first season sire I Am Invincible – all purchased from last year’s Inglis HTBA Scone Yearling Sale.

The 2014 Inglis HTBA Scone Yearling Sale will be held on Sunday 17 May. 210 yearlings have been catalogued for the sale including 10 lots by I Am Invincible. Other sires well represented include Ad Valorem (12 lots), Nicconi (9), Snipptson (9), Tickets (9), Dubleo (8), Hinchinbrook (8), Oratorio (8), Dane Shadow (6), Excellent Art (6), Ready’s Image (6), Duporth (5), Excites (5), Haradasun (5), Onemorenomore (5).

There are also yearlings by Snitzel, Sebring, Exceed And Excel, Al Maher, Domesday, Flying Spur, Magic Albert, Mossman, Northern Meteor, Street Cry and first or second season sires Beneteau, Big Brown, Congrats, Dreamscape, Lookin at Lucky, Star Witness, Stryker, Time Thief and Von Costa de Hero.

All yearlings to be offered from 10:30am on Sunday will be available for inspection at White Park, Scone on Saturday 16 May.

Saturday double as the Scone Race Club’s biggest race day of the year. Feature races on Saturday include:

24 three-year-olds have been nominated for the Inglis Guineas including Gr.2 Sapphire Stakes winner Cosmic Endeavour, Gr.3 Hawkesbury Guineas winner Chautauqua, Listed Adelaide Guineas winner Alpha Beat, Albury Guineas winner Ryker and progressive city winners Under The Louvre, Fare Well, Liberty’s Choice and Woodbine.

All will be out to spoil the party for Twilight Royale. As the winner of two legs of the Inglis Triple Crown the bonny filly is eligible for the $2.4 million Inglis Triple Crown Bonus on top of the Inglis Guineas’ $240,000 first prize.
