After multiple success in South Africa’s 2013-2014 Equus Awards another five Australian-bred thoroughbreds hold nominations in this year’s awards to be presented on August 11.

Able Friend recorded his sixth straight stakes victory when taking out the Group 1 Hong Kong Champions Mile this afternoon, flowing on from the international success of fellow Inglis graduate The Conglomerate at Group 2 level in South Africa on Saturday.

Australian bred mare Arcetri Pink claimed another feature win when taking out the Group II Ipi Tombe Challenge at Turffontein in South Africa on Saturday , while other Aussie bred winners on the card were Mac de Lago and Thato Magestique.

Killua Castle has become the ninth Inglis graduate in four months to win at stakes level in South Africa. The four-year-old took out the Group 3 Jubilee Handicap over 1800m at Turffontein on Saturday.

International buyers of Inglis yearlings celebrated a successful Easter weekend with Group 3 winners in South Africa and Singapore.
