At Rosehill Gardens in Sydney, Australia's Champion 2YO Colt of 2007-2008 and Widden Stud sire Sebring (More Than Ready-Purespeed, by Flying Spur) added a Group success when enigmatic 4YO mare Scratchy Bottom (Sebring-Silk Veil, by Danehill) charged home along the inside fence to score by 0.2-length for trainer Mick Kent in the $150,000 Group 3 Epona Stakes (1900m) for 3YO+ f&m, over 4YO Kiwi mares Rising Romance (Ekraar-Post Romance, by Postponed) & Telepathic (Mossman-Telepathy, by Conatus).

Victory for an Australian sired horse in the Queensland Derby at Eagle Farm on June 7 would give Australian sired runners the rare feat of taking out every Derby conducted in 2013-14. They have already succeeded in these classics in the racing year in Melbourne, Sydney, Hobart, Perth and Adelaide.
