Countdown To Gigantic Riches In Scone

The start of the famous two-day Scone Racing Carnival is just over a fortnight away and the catalogues of the Inglis Sales that border the race days are now available.

Important dates of the upcoming race and sale days in Scone are: Thursday 15 May – Inglis Scone Thoroughbred Sale, White Park Friday 16 May – Emirates Park Scone Cup Day, Scone Race Club Saturday 17 May – Inglis Guineas Day, Scone Race Club Sunday 18 May – Inglis HTBA Scone Yearling Sale, White Park

66 lots have been assembled for the Scone Thoroughbred Sale to kick off the four days on Thursday. CLICK HERE to view the online catalogue or you can download it on the Inglis Sales iPad App. Supplementary entries for this Sale close Thursday, 8 May.

The 210 lot catalogue for the 2014 Inglis HTBA Scone Yearling Sale is also available on the iPad app and online at www.inglis.com.au

All yearlings to be offered on the Sunday will be available for inspection at White Park on Saturday 17 May.

The $100,000 Inglis Scone Challenge for two-year-olds offered as yearlings at last year’s HTBA Scone Yearling Sale or Australian Bloodstock Sale will be run over 1100m on Friday 16 May.

A lot of attention across the two day racing carnival at the Scone Race Club is on the $400,000 Inglis Guineas (1400m). The Restricted Listed event is limited to three-year-olds that were offered as yearlings at Inglis’ Select Sales and were paid up for the $5 million Inglis Race Series.

The Guineas is the third leg of the Inglis Triple Crown and as the winner of the first two legs Twilight Royale is eligible for a whopping $2.4 million bonus thanks to Inglis if she is successful in the Guineas on Saturday 17 May.

“Twilight Royale and the Inglis Triple Crown bonus being alive are certainly capturing the imagination of plenty of people in the Easter States. With $400,000 normal prizemoney on offer we’ve no doubt she’ll have some stiff competition,” said Inglis Bloodstock Director Jonathan D’Arcy.

The Gai Waterhouse trained Liberty’s Choice is one such opposition, as the colt was a non-acceptor at Group 3 level last weekend in preference for a drop back in distance to attack the Inglis Guineas.
