Great Choice Among Classic Types

Type is a key focus at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale and with three individual two-year-old stakes winners already this season the sale’s outstanding racetrack record is continuing to deliver for buyers.

Mick Price was drawn to Extreme Choice at last year’s Classic Sale outlaying $100,000 for the youngster (pictured). The Not A Single Doubt colt has more than repaid Price’s judgement breaking Mossfun’s race record on debut in the $500,000 RL Inglis Nursery last month with Price commenting “what can I say he is just a natural, I’ll take him home now and get him ready for the Blue Diamond or Golden Slipper.”

Tony McEvoy’s two-year-old stakes winners Concealer (Gr.3 VRC Emirates Airline Plate) and Jackson (LR MRC Santa’s Magical Kingdom Stakes) were among the eight yearlings bought by McEvoy Mitchell Racing at Classic last year.

Year after year Inglis Classic delivers for supporters of the sale, from precocious juveniles like Peggy Jean and champion three-year-olds like Brazen Beau to classic heroes such as Mourinho.

Classic marks the start of Inglis’ select yearling sales series and Book One of the auction this year will begin at 6:00pm on Saturday 6 February, following a great afternoon of racing at Royal Randwick featuring the $250,000 RL Inglis Classic race for sale graduates.

2006 Classic Sale graduate I Am Invincible is the most represented sire in the 2016 sale with 30 of his progeny selected. I Am Invincible’s champion son Brazen Beau was sourced from the 2013 Inglis Classic, so close inspection of his 2016 crop is a must.

Not A Single Doubt, the sire of Extreme Choice and Concealer, has 5 yearlings for offer at the 2016 Inglis Classic Sale on 6, 7 & 8 February, while Nicconi has 18 lots catalogued including the brother to Concealer as Lot 408.
