Talented three year-old filly Hallowell Belle has been twice a runner-up in Group I races, so few could begrudge the filly her first Black Type success in the Listed ATC Darby Munro Quality at Rosehill on Saturday, the win providing a timely boost for her half-sister that will be offered at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale by Widden Stud.
The first Australian two year-old race of the season was run and won on Saturday and while the winner was long odds, she was the best bred horse in the race.

A buoyant sale year concluded on an extremely positive note for William Inglis & Son as buyers thronged to the Oaklands sale complex in Melbourne today where 176 horses sold at an average of $7,045 achieving a gross of $1,240,000, a healthy increase of 32% over last year.
