The 2005 June Thoroughbred Sale continued today at Oaklands Junction with 246 broodmares selling for gross receipts of $2,419,850, at an average price of $9,836 and a very healthy clearance rate of 81%.
The strength of yesterday’s opening session of the 2005 June Weanling Sale continued today, with a total of 304 weanlings overall selling for a new record gross of $3,314,554 and a record average price of $10,903, up 15% on last year.

The 2005 Inglis Sires Produce Yearling Sale was held today at Newmarket with a total of 127 horses selling at an average price of $17,045 and gross sales of $2,164,750.
The 2005 Select Weanling Sale was conducted at Newmarket on this winterish May day, with 175 weanlings selling at an average price of $15,642 and gross receipts of $2,737,350.
Due to popular demand the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale will be expanded to include three sessions in 2006, conducted over successive days on February 12, 13 and 14 at the Newmarket complex in Sydney.
As expected, Encosta de Lago was again the star of the Melbourne Autumn Yearling Sale, when the final session of the sale was concluded at Oaklands today.
The strong momentum of the Premier Yearling Sale continued on the first day of the Autumn Yearling Sale when 129 lots sold for an average of $10,848 and a gross of $1,399,500.
The concluding session of the 2005 Australian Select Broodmare Sale continued to excite vendors and buyers today at Newmarket, when a further 210 horses sold for $10,778,250.
The much anticipated Vinery Stud Dispersal produced stellar results today when three mares - Mannington, Snowdrift (Fr) and In the Past (GB) - smashed the previous record price for a broodmare sold at public auction in Australasia, established by former champion two year old Burst, which made $900,000 at the Newhaven Park Stud Dispersal in 1996.
The 2005 Australian Easter Yearling Sale concluded today when a further 174 yearlings were sold at Newmarket, bringing the overall gross for the three day sale to $90,528,000, up by some 20 % on last year’s record figure of $75,477,500.
The Australian Easter Yearling Sale kicked off in spectacular fashion today with 173 yearlings generating gross turnover of $36,448,000 at an average price of $210,682.
