Strong gains achieved at the Classic Yearling Sale last year were improved upon again in 2005 with 418 yearlings generating gross turnover of $14,438,954 (up by 7%) at an average price of $34,792.

The 2005 William Inglis Yearling Sale Series kicked off in fine fashion today with a massive crowd on hand for the ever-popular Classic Yearling Sale.

The Southern Highlands nursery of Inverness Stud enjoyed brilliant results at the Classic Yearling Sale last year grossing $614,500 when they sold all 12 of their catalogued youngsters at an average price of $51,208.

Media interest surrounding the final Southern Hemisphere bred yearlings by Danehill (USA) is set to reach a crescendo at the 2005 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale when four yearlings by the legendary sire will be offered for sale.

The last auction for 2004 finished on a very strong note at Oaklands today, with one of the strongest mixed sales conducted this year.
